The fourth edition of this classic book has been fully updated to incorporate new photographs and to highlight the remarkable progress made in recent years by the Wensleydale Railway Association. It includes the reopening of the railway to passengers between Leeming Bar and Leyburn in July 2003 and details of the efforts to prepare the whole Northallerton to Redmire section for a full passenger service. It also highlights initiatives taken to achieve the longer-term aim of re-opening the whole of the 40-mile route beween Northallterton and the Settle-Carlisle line.
