That's the Forecast

Yorkshire's favourite TV forecaster portrays the region's weather at its most stunning.

Using many remarkable photographs submitted by viewers, he covers such themes as lightening strikes, dramatic auroras in the night sky and the dire floods of recent years. Vintage pictures from the Yorkshire Post archive add a fascinating historical perspective.

Yet this is far more than just a picture book. In response to popular demand, paul writes about his memorable TV moments both on and off screen. Here is rewvealed the blunt Yorkshire reaction when he arrived at a Headingley test match in pourting rain after confidently predicting sun-drenched conditions the previous evening. And we learn the truth of what happened when hew likened Look North's co-presenter Christa Ackroyd to a python - 'big, fat and slimy'!

At the other extreme the book ends on a serious note, Paul explaining in succinct and readableway the likely consequences of the present climate change. He makes a personal plea: " We will reach a point in the not to distant future when we have no control over our ever warming climate with its enormous implications for mankind. I don't know about you, but I really don't want totake that sort of risk with our future. This is why we must try and curb carbon dioxide emissions as a matter of urgency"
