Description

Prepare to be inspired by one of life’s natural mavericks.

Serial entrepreneur and philanthropist Graham Leslie founded one of the UK’s most successful pharmaceutical companies, which he later sold for $86m and has since dedicated his life to helping other businesses and charities.

Graham was chairman of Huddersfield Town Football Club in the early 1990s and had the vision, drive and determination to kick-start the project that led to a new stadium in Huddersfield, the first all-seater football stadium in the UK.

The stadium was so striking and different it set the standards for all future UK sports grounds and, ultimately, inspired the new Wembley stadium.

That is why Graham’s autobiography is called Ahead of the Curve. The stadium’s famous design, with its innovative banana-shaped trusses, threw a curve ball into stadium design. Graham has constantly been a disruptor, often doing things differently to everyone else. He reveals how he now intends to change the way part of the music industry works and gives vital business tips such as how companies can double their profits in a year.

Graham, who is dyslexic and left school with no recognised qualifications, tells his amazing life story with honesty and humour, revealing how, often against all odds, he has been lucky to survive both physically and financially.

Ahead Of The Curve also includes a competition to win a personally commissioned painting done for them by internationally-renowned royal artist Richard Gower who is featured in the book.

All of Graham’s and Andy Hirst’s proceeds from the book will go to charity.

AUTHOR
Graham Leslie went from living in a council house to meeting American presidents, British prime ministers and members of the royal family and, along the way, created Galpharm International Ltd – one of the most pioneering pharmaceutical companies the UK has ever seen – and which has saved the NHS more than £400m every year since 1995.

He was founder chairman and creator of the first all-seater sports stadium in the UK, the Huddersfield stadium that became the forerunner for modern stadium design, including Wembley.

He is currently creating the world’s first AI app for young musicians to distribute their music globally.

Graham is one of the UK’s most respected entrepreneurs, philanthropists and business innovators, and here he tells his incredible life story, sharing some of the secrets of his great success.

It is an inspirational ‘rags to riches’ tale, about a man with a big smile and an even bigger heart, who has achieved so much against the odds.

Co-author
Graham’s autobiography has been written with respected Yorkshire journalist Andy Hirst, who has more than thirty years’ experience in the media industry and now runs his own business AH!
